Director and Founder
Jocelyn began dancing in 1990 at the Baltimore County Youth Ballet under the instruction of Laura Dolid. Her performance credits include various core roles in The Nutcracker, Coppelia, A Mid Summers Night Dream, and Sleeping Beauty. She has studied under various teachers such as Jane Murray, Stephanie Powell, Mari Travis, Linda Denise Fisher, Glenna Blessing, and Fleur Colimore. Jocelyn was a member of the Salisbury University Dance Company and the Shenandoah Conservatory Dance Ensemble. Jocelyn has had the privilege to serve as an appointed Lead Dance Instructor and Coordinator for the United Missionary Baptist Convention for 6 years and has taught dance for 14 years at several studios in the Maryland area.
Jocelyn has a diverse educational background to include courses in education, deaf studies, criminal justice, music, dance, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and a Masters of Science Degree in Health Care Administration. After completing her studies she resumed following her enthusiasm for fine arts. Her passion for dance lead her to start the Colorful Soles Dance Company in 2015. Her hope is to bridge the divide between dancers of all ages, races, body types, techniques, and dance styles.
